should I test each coil @ a time? or both of them together? I will use a 9v batt...

If something happens to the sub and I dont have a warranty for it, how hard or expensive would it be to get it fix? would JL even take it to fix it?

They might just laugh at you...

They might charge a good amount for it to get fixed...

It's up to you- do you want to save a lot, and risk not having a warranty, or do you want to spend more, and know if something happens, you are covered...

P.S.- if you do blow it, VIA burnt coils, most warranties won't cover that anyway...

search down subwoofers until you find a post called "wall socket fun", the 9v battery theorem taken to the extreme.

Give it a low amount of power in free air just to see if it works...

AA? lol..i used my cordless drill 14.4v battery and wired it to the RE SE and it barely move the **** cone. good luck with AA. haha
