i was thinking about getting some window tint but i hear its pretty hard to put on.. anyone wanna tell me how to do it...
just to add to that. us a hair blow dryer when finishing up, it will help get those little annoying bubbles out when finishing . if you set it to dry slowly, any bubbles you left there will spread. i do simple and custom tint jobs. if you feel comfortable doing it go for it it will save you lots of money. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif
I own a window tint business. Some of the things ppl do to tint their cars is amazing. You TRACE the window on paper?! Id love to see that top edge! Don't be cheap. Have it professionally done. You will never get as quality of a job doing it yourself..rather than a professional who has done it the majority of their life.As for the 3m comment...hehe. I wont EVER touch 3m in my life again. They have a good name..which is why people ask for 3m..but I will never use 3m tint again. Their 'colorstable' film..is kinda funny. I havent seen anything stable about it. It's even funnier that they send alcohol pads with it..to take off the 3m logo that they have printed all over it..
Trace the outside window with paper, cut it out and use that for pattern, tape it to the tint and cut it out. Use a spray bottle and some baby shampoo. Buy a small squegge or use a credit card with a t-shirt wrapped around it. Wet window with solution, sandwich some tape on the corner of the tint and pull apart but becareful not to get the tint dirty or wrinkle it. spray some solution onto the tint itself and press it on the window, do small sections first. Use lots of solution so you can move the tint into place. Next take your squegge or credit card and push out the air bubbles softly, dont push to hard, you want some of the water there for errors, the sun will take care of the rest. i like side to side. when you get near the bottom press apart the window gasket and easily push tint down threw it. After it looks good park your ride where its sunny. and let it sit there for a couple of hours, dont roll your window down for at least 24hours. im not a professional but have done a few cars and it turned out great. If you cant get all the air bubbles out leaving your ride in the sun will get most out.

Decipha..I have a successful window tint business. Perhaps you should know what you're talking about before you start running your mouth. If you HONESTLY use paper to trace the window, and cut a pattern....that is HILARIOUS. Show me a professional tinter who does that. Hell..just hop on tintdude.com and ask there. I doubt people will say 'I do that too!'
