Putting midrange on floor?

I know its not the best solution, but how will it sound if i put my midrange speaker on the floor in a fiberglass enclousure and the tweeter in the stock location on the door(both will still be really close to me since the seats are practically mounted right on the floor board)? The reason i ask is that there i simply no room for kickpanels and my doors cannot house big enough speakers without major cutting.

I don't know exactly where you mean by "on the floor"......but here is an option you could play around with:

That install is PerryB's from http://www.elitecaraudio.com. He has both the driver and passenger side mids installed right infront of the seats (and shallow enough that the seats can still slide over the enclosure). From what he says, it images pretty well.

is that shallow enough that noone would step on it? hell, what if its raining or winter, and water gets in there?
It's no different than kickpanels, just in a different location. Actually, probably a little safer than kickpanels since not very many ppl sit with their feet right up against the seat.

but the problem is im trying to see what i have to work with...its either this or 4x6 ovals or 4 in comps in the doors. I dont want to get 6.5 inch comps and then find out that it sounds worse on the floor.
