Put my 2 weeks in today...

One of my supervisors and I more or less had it out and i was just tired of all the BS that was going on so I put in my 2 weeks. I have some money saved up but i'm still looking for a place to work. Anyone have any suggestions on some good places to work for a college student? I'm 100% financially independent, so $10/hr isn't really going to cut it.

Try to talk them out of the notice, and stay until you find something. It is ROUGH now adays man, as said.

You could always try to install at BB or CC, but you wont cut much more than 10

I realize that, and took that into account but it had to be done. I don't want to post my whole sob story on ca.com, but it's been culminating for a while

How about go out and look? Are we supposed to know what you can do and the places around? Getting 10 an hour here is hard to come across starting out even when you know something...

It would be better to see if you could stay, find another job then quit?

And if you knew the time was coming you should have asked this question about a month ago..

still though, if you had waited until they fired you, at least you could have collected unemployment for a little while...

I could if I didn't have school and had a job that could do weekends and could do 50 hours a week, but I can't do 50 hours a week and maintain a good GPA. My car insurance rapes me, and rent is expensive and going up. I'm not saying $10/hr is an impossibility, just a SEVERE strain

If you get desperate you can try a job placement agency but you won't get more then $10 an hour and you'll work crappy jobs.

touche. Guess not, just was looking for suggestions to see what everyone's thoughts were. And I definitely should have started previously, but it was almost like a rollercoaster... sometimes things would be great, others not so much
