Pulsing, Engine Noise, Static. Somehow I got it all... need advice *vid*

I just installed 2 sets of PG rsd 6.5's in my car and am having some noise interference problems. Im getting a constant static and pulsing type of noise with the volume at ZERO, and when you first start the system up and the car is running there is a higher pitch noise that changes with the engine revs.

I took a video of what it sounds like and it picked up the sound almost perfect.

The whistling and pulsing get drowned out very easily with a few clicks of the volume but its annoying, and they speakers always seem to have a static/buzz to them and ruin the clarity at any volume level......

My setup is pretty basic, 4 chanel amp in the rear with the crossovers all under the seat with it. my headunit is a premier 860mp, settings are all set extremely conservative. dont know what else to post to help diagnose, im stumped and dont know where to start.

Thanks

i had this problem a bunch, make sure ur rcas arent near the power wires. that helped. in my first setup i could not for the life of me get rid of the static and whine so i got a ground loop isolator i think its called. was like 10 bucks at wallmart made by schoche i think or whatever that crappy company is. took away the wine just perfect. its kind of a band aid and didnt really fix the problem, just made it go away with least amount of fiddling around.

Where does a ground loop isolator go when you have 3 sets of rcas running down your car? I have 2 going to the speaker amp

I was thinking of splitting only one set of rcas at the amplifier with some y cables and maybe putting the isolator right in before that?

I read that thread and I have also done everything it mentioned, rcas far from power for as long as I could, solid amp and headunit ground, havent grounded the headunits rcas though.

the isolator goes before the speaker amp, the rcas plug into it then it has rca outs that plug into the amp. if you have 2 sets of rcas for ur speakers then i guess yyou will need 2 isolators

and they actually will completely get rid of that noise?
it's not a garantee.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

youre best bet.. 99.9% to get rid of engine noise ect.. is...

find a good grounding spot to the frame or body of the car behind youre head unit..

useing a self tapping screw and some good star washer's run a ground wire from the body of the car to the body/chassis of youre headunit ( there is a spot in the back of youre headunit where a screw will go into for back stapping/ grounding the deck chassis ), then from the same place you grounded at the body/chassis, ground the outter part of the rca's for the front & rear set of rca's.... just like in the stickey for ground loop engine noise thread...

allways works for me whenever i do a pioneer deck and 4ch amp...

Before you spend the money on a ground loop isolator try grounding your rca shields. I took apart a GLI and all it did was connect the rca's shields to the ground wires through a series of windings.

K i'll try that, you guys mentioned this fixing my whine and random noises, but does this also solve the constant static or will something else need to be addressed for that?

thanks

Alright well since they dont sell ground loop isolators at my walmart or local audio place I guess I have no choice but to do that first.

So I can just take a piece of wire, strip it bare so I have 10+" of bare wire and wrap it around the RCA outputs on my headunit and ground it to my deck?

First problem with that, my pioneer rca outputs as you guys already know, have 8" of extention OUT of the headunit before the actual plug, the outputs arent right on the back of the headunit if you know what I mena, how do you do it then? Cleanly

Thanks
