Exactly.smaller pulley = more rotations per one rotation of the belt = faster spinning pulley = increase in output
Duh! sillysmaller pulley = more rotations per one rotation of the belt = faster spinning pulley = increase in output
I ask because I can not find a belt that fits my new alt from mechmando you have to use the pully they come with???
if you cant find a belt to compensate for ~1" of change in length, you arent looking very hard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifI ask because I can not find a belt that fits my new alt from mechman
there is definatly not one. been to a mechanic and everythingif you cant find a belt to compensate for ~1" of change in length, you arent looking very hard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
no, you do not have to use the same pulley, but if you swap pulleys, the alternator ratings will be off, and it may not perform well
Very Doubtful... what kind of car? do you have the number off your belt?there is definatly not one. been to a mechanic and everything
i cant remember what the number is but my car isVery Doubtful... what kind of car? do you have the number off your belt?
they make like 20 different lengths of belt that will work on my car. It is as simple as finding the part number and then finding a shorter one. For example the Supercoupe used something like an 80394 stock but when I added mt smaller blower pulley I needed something shorter. Of course the high school kid behind that counter said they didn't have anything. I then said, see if you have something like 80390, sure enough he did and ti was like 1/2" shorter and worked perfectly!
You don't need much play at all. I would throw that one on there and just see how it does. If you notice rubber shavings then you know it is too tight but I doubt that would be the case. If it comes down to it, you could always just try to clock the tensioner, I would use that as a last resort though...i cant remember what the number is but my car is 2003 Honda Civic
I have been threw 10 or so belts. there is only one that works a little bit but the alternator is on its max setting. the next size down is too small to fit over onto the the alt when it is on its smallest setting. there is not very much play on it at all
