The issues I've heard of with PS3's was...

well i wont b playin all day and it will get alot of air around it. my 42 plasma samsung is 720. and i dont have any ps2 games .

well the guy at the sony store was like ummm when i told him about my tv. he said i should get a new tv lol. i doubt i will anytime. he said i need to get a 1080 the 720 will b ok at best. he said no need for hdmi with a 720 but when he showed the wires the system came with he said its good up to 480 some sh it like that. thats when i said i will just get the hdmi cable cuz the cables they wanted to sell me where 19.99+ tax. i got the hdmi today and i got a dvi-d to dvi-d for my computer to my tv. all i need is a few wh ores and im good to go .

I meant 1080p. Apparently when they first came out, they played up to 720p. Thats what I read in an article an when I was contemplating buying one. Maybe I misunderstood.

for me im still good to go. so any one have some links to a nice ps3 controller and a head set. im lookin to get a good deal i dont need dirt cheap but i dont wana spend like 40.00 for each.

480i is standard def tv

480p is dvd quality

and 720p, 1080i, and 1080p are HD

If you had a cable that was "480p" it was more than likely a composite vid cable.. if your tv is smaller than 46 inches ( some say 40" ) you will not notice a difference in 1080p PQ.. SO you wont need an hdmi, but seeing as how I could pic up 6 HDMIs from monoprice for the price of one sony composite cable , it makes no dif to me

I like hdmi no matter what.. Vid and audio all in one, and its a cleaner look, with better quality

Definatley. My home theater plays Blu-Ray and upscales DVDs to 1080p and they look great. Nothing compares to how a Blu-Ray movie looks on my TV though.

before i bought my new HT , i thought the PQ was the best thing ever.. Until I heard HD sound.. DTS-HD MA, True HD, and LPCM audio is just unreal.. Now instead of buying blus for video, its usually audio

i wana go get mod2 but i been lookin around town. there was this kid that had one for ps3 for 50.00. i just called him a few min ago he said he sold it yesterday for 45.00. meh
