PS3 price drop!

mtlhead-

yes i know that companies make the most money off of their games...

"Group 1" will and always will help with this.

"Group 2" will likely never help with this but it doesnt never hurt the companies because their intentions are always the same so their is no change.

now, yes, blu-ray is supported on the ps3 but we all know, just like the computer comparison that there are limitations to it compared to a true blu-ray player.

Simply put -

For those who wish to have an all in one system, the PS3 is the cheapest no doubt...

But for those who wish to get the most out of a single device possible... these people will pass, the curious few... Intentions are what control this group.

lol_j00_mad?

I have no idea what i am talking about?

Ok, i must have had success for years ..... virtually. i guess this isn't real...

I already explained this wasnt a arguing thread so u must not understand english.

Simply comparing different points of view but u gotta defend your point of view like someone's opinion violates your well-being...

You sound stubborn and non a sociable person to be around.

But just to satisfy your arguments-

Since the ps3 can do everything a computer can do...

I guess we'll see how well it does when using video surveillance equipment for multiple cameras...

i use multi monitors at my workstation, how quick and easy is it gonna be to setup that environment via a ps3?

how can i be assured that i can run over 30 simultaneous programs without bogging down or slowing down?

A ps3 is designed to be used as a gaming system... not a computer... that is a illogical comparison...

Hey fellow PS3 owners, need your help...

I just went past my 1 year manu warranty and the blu ray / dvd functionality is no longer working. I can play CD's and games but when I pop in a dvd/blu ray the screen just stays black. The console will eject the disc but remain black until I shut off the power and reboot.

I've tried the PS3 support site but they did not have any clear instructions other than to ship the unit back to them, which I thing runs $150+...

Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

i almsot forgot to add to your comment about calling me a fegard? because you think 54gb discs are better than hard drives?

Let's see what better...

Single Dual layer Blu-Ray disc - $14.99

Single 1.5 TB Hard Drive - $119.99

Hmm.. still must not see the picture? let me break it down for ya-

For every 50gb of blu-ray = $14.99

For every 50gb of hard drive = $3.91

Dual layer blu-ray = 50GB

1.5TB hard drive = 1536GB unformatted\~1370GB formatted

1500GB of blu-ray discs = $450

1500GB of hard drive = $120

You might be able to buy a new laser for it (if that's the problem) on ebay for a good price. There are a couple places on the internet that will fix it for a fair price too. You could buy another one from like walmart, get a waranty for it, and then return your current one saying it broke... That's pretty shady, but people do it all the time.

Normal symptom of the laser losing strength.

At this time, the only thing i can suggest is to order a new drive as just replacing the laser isnt much cheaper.

I am still awaiting the manual for calibrating the laser on the PS3 but i have yet to see my distributor have that info yet.

I have one for the 360 but i'm sure it's different.

Calibrating the laser can force it to read your discs better but strengthening the laser will make it die even faster in the long run so remember that.

Whoever made that implication?

When you buy movies, you SHOULD back them up to prevent kids or just age from destroying the material.

Backup solutions to hard drives will always be cheaper than optical media.

I think you just simply don't see the reference i am making...

Of course we are way off topic on the PS3 now, lol.
