PRS-X340 vs. USX-4085

Ok guys Ive been looking at 4 channel amplifiers for some time now and I think I may have narrowed it down to 2.

The Pioneer Premier PRS-X340 and the US Acoustics USX-4085

THe thing is these amps are basically the same price ~$180 (they differ only $5) and I do not know which one would be better.

Is there anyone out there that owns or at least knows a bit more about these amps. I am in need of their advice

Ill be using the amp to push 4 speakers (right now i have 4 infinity 652i but am planning to upgrade soon as i have the money)

if the difference is only 5 bucks then go with the Premier, i heard these are awesome amps

Jmac, you say the premier is a MUCH better amp, but why is this?? could you maybe explain??? copuld anyone go in more depth???

Prs-X340 has 37.5 W x 4 @ 4 ohms ? That is the rms average power. Make sure you check the rms on each of the Infinity speaker @ 4 ohms. Remember the Amp have to have more or equal watts, so it can provide your speakers enough power to produce better punch sound. Otherwise it will create the distionsion at high volume.

That is what I think.

my deck is a pioneer deh-p5500MP. I have one front/rear pre out and one sub pre out. for a 4 ch amp do i need (or want to if i can afford) find a cd player that has a front pre out, rear preout and sub pre out. ??

Well, I have recently installed the other amp from US Acoustics. The USX-4065. I have this amp powering my Infinity Reference 505cs Components in my doors. I must say that I am really satisfied and impressed with this amp. Amp has great SQ and doesn't cause distortion and doesn't get hot. No problems at all. Can't go wrong with US Acoustics.

at the advice of Jmac i got myself a premier x220. it smokes. cleanest amp ive ever had and its powerful as hell for being rated @ 30 X 2. i had it running my sub and it put up ~250 watts bridged @ 4 ohm now i got it running my comps and they sound great. deffinatly reccomend the premier. if i had the money i would have gotten myself the x340.

The USX4085 produces a little more power, but the PRS-X340 is a MUCH better amplifier.
