Protector Light Illuminated: System DOWN!! NEED HELP!

I have 2 12" Infinity Perfects Dual 4ohm subs. We wired them 2 x 2ohms connected to a Profile CA1200 amplifier. I drive a 2003 Honda Civic EX coupe. My friend said it could be the alternator gone bad or not enough power coming from the battery. These are just options. I am goin to buy a wire tester tonite and see if all the wires are working and giving enough power. Please feel free to leave any comments! Thanks again for your concerns!
No its at one channel at 2 ohms for each sub, but the amp can handle it.

I wired 2 x 2ohm 12' infinity perfect subwoofers to the CA1200. Is this bad? I returned the amp thinkin it was fried and the replaced it with the same thing happening. If i cant use this CA1200 profile amp.....what amplifier do u recommend with this wirnig and wattage!?!?!?!?

please help me out!

thanks!

hrm..

it happened with your old amp? then you returned it and it still did it?

test the impedance of the subs.

grab your trusty volt-ohm meter and switch it to impedance and check. each coil should be something about 4.

The subs are Dual 4ohm. The Amp is 300x2@4ohms and 450x2@2ohms. Each sub is wired to a 2ohm load on each channel. That amp is perfect for the subs.

elsewhere....as in the wires? I was thinking about buying a whole new wiring kit and reinstalling it. Do u think that is the best solution? Or should i just get a wire tester first?! Thanks for all of your guys help!!!!!!

go with the wire tester... it will be your best friend.

get a digital volt-ohm meter... you miht even have one (battery tester with two probe thingies attached to black and red wires). it could be in the subs, it coul be that a speaker wire has grounded out, it could even be that your power wire is ****t.

Depending on the amp, it ca recieve a power and ground connection through the head unit. I've had this happen with my old Cali-1200. Take the fuses out of the amp and then put them back in (following all standard procedures of course). This worked for me and everything turn on out of nowhere. The same thing also happend with a 1600 watt Legacy amp and a 1200 watt SPL amp that I've owned as well. If this doesn't help just get a different brand cause that company probably sucks!!!! Good luck!!

alright guys.......i am getting a wire tester tomorrow, and tonite i messed around with it a lil more and still nothing. Every connection point (to battery, to ground, remote) i checked and connected again and still nothing. This is very weird!!! Any other suggestions at all please let me know!!!!!! Thanks again.....i am about to give up on it and just sell the **** things!

DESPERATE

That's not possible. Without power and ground the light shouldn't come on. Maybe the ground was being made through the RCA cables, but I would expect power to be required for the light. If the remote wire can power the protection light circuit, maybe it means you're not getting power?
I would contact the amp manufacturer and ask them what conditions can cause that light to come on.
What part of this was not clear?

What is your amplifier mounted to? The only reason your light would stay on with ONLY the remote wire connected is if there was another path to ground....in other words a short.
