protection light

first off, im pretty new to car audio. I have a memphis st1500d thats powering two mtx thunder8000's (i know, i want new stuff...) anyways, just yesterday it stopped working and my protection light is on. i looked for info on what to do but no luck so far. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What impedance load are you running the amp at?

4 ohms. this system has been working for 6-7 months with no problems.

Possible that the gain was set incorrectly and it has just taken this amount of time to affect anything...

Or you blew a sub and now are running the amp at too low of an impedance level.

My guess would be that one of the subs is blown and is causing the amp to see too low of an impedence level as well

didnt even think of that... is there anyway to check and see if my amp is still alright? i could care less about those subs, got the subs the amp and a cap for 250
