Ive been running this amp for a few months now today was pretty hot out and the amp shut down now soon as i turn it on with the volume at 4 or 5 it throws the protecter light on!!! Any one know why or a way around it????
That wouldn't be it if it's been running for a few months.check you wiring and see what the ohm load is
a blown voice coil would change the ohm load as wellhe could have melted part of the coil by playing to hard lowering the ohm throwing the amp into protect when throwing to much power at it. ??
well then its your subsalso if I unhook the subs it wont go into protection if that makes any difference
It's possible the subs overheated on this particularly hot day, since it gets really hot inside those boxes. If the voice coil can't dissipate enough heat, meltdown happens.
