protecter light keeps comin on

the subs are perfectly fine and their wired in a series load and it was turned off for a few hours i turn it on at 4 or 5 volume and soon as i try to turn it up it goes into protection i also took it off low pass and put it on high pass and turned off the bass boost

It's possible the subs overheated on this particularly hot day, since it gets really hot inside those boxes. If the voice coil can't dissipate enough heat, meltdown happens.

is there anyway possible to go around this or are the subs just gone now???? any ideas? thought about disconnecting the protect on amp!!! help pleasee!!!!!!
