Pros & Cons? SD2.5 15's - MAW-15's - CVR 15's

I am going to do 4 15's with my project, and want to run at least 2kw. I don't have the greatest budget, so these are probably my best choices. What are some pros and cons for all of these?

SD2.5 15's

Pros - Best 'rated' power handling, easily available, and the owner is local so I could possibly get help quickly if need be.

Cons - A little on the pricier side, my budget will be stretched to get these.

MAW-15's

Pros - Great sub, cheap would stay well below budget. Known to take quite a bit more power than rated.

Cons - Harder to get a hold of, plus they are used.

CVR 15's

Pros - Good sub all around. Cheaper than the SD2.5's

Out of the bunch I would go with the SDs.

The Maw 15s would be my second choice only because you would have to find (4) used in good condition. Plus, I feel like your going for more output with your setup (4 15") than anything else, so the SDs would fit the bill nicely.

The Maws are nice subs, but not know for their extreme output lol. They do sound very good from what I hear.

And ill pass on the Kickers, have had sets of CVRs, decent subs, but better can be had.

Whats your budget looking like? Why not (2) higher end 15s instead of (4) lower ones?

SD2.5 is the clear winner out of the three imo.

SD's for first pick, CVR's would be ok too, i wouldnt put more than 600w-700w to each. so 2k for all 4 would work good.

I'm doin' a build for my recently passed uncle, and it's mainly just for the 'wow' factor. People around my house haven't seen many walls, or 4 15's, nonetheless. I was going to do 8 8" woofers, but they got to be too expensive, so I had to look elsewhere. My budget is around $600 - $650, as I have to save, and I have a year to do it. I just don't want to have to save for the whole year, just to get higher end subs, and then have to get the amp to power them. I have emailed DJ, to see if there's anything we can work out on the price, as the SDC2.5's are almost $100 out of my budget.

SD2.5 is the clear winner out of the three imo.

That's what it is looking like to me, just wanted to check for other possibilities.

you can't beat the performance/cost ratio on the sd's. The price on those subs are incredibly low to start with so don't expect to be getting any kind of price break when your only buying 4 of them.

Oh, I know. Its worth a shot to see if I can have something worked out with him. I'll probably get the SDC2.5's, now it's time to decide on an amp that can do 2kw @ 2 ohms, or .5 ohms.

SDC's are quite impressive for the price. 4 of them should hit low and hard and have good output. I did 2 in an SUV a few months back and was VERY impressed by them.

I've only done one CVR box and wasn't impressed at all. Got remotely loud but sounded like total ***...

Either find 4 of the Maws used or go with the SDC's.

If I were going with just one woofer, I would definitely do the SPL-15. I may decide on 2 IXL 18's though.

good luck,it should be a fun build.had a 2.5 and they are loud and clean.runnin a maw 15 now.its very clean hits all notes,but lack of spl is got me looking at the IXL 15.only heard 1 cvr set up and it was nasty.4 sd2.5 15s would give some serious "wow"factor your lookin for.
