My crappy amp (read sig) stopped working after letting my car sit for a while. I checked the amp and the fuse was blown. So I put in a new fuse and still doesn't work. The protect light doesn't even come on. Seems like there is no power getting to the trunk. I checked all my connections and everything is secured tight. I touched the live wire that is going to the amp to metal to see if it would spark, but it wouldn't spark. It would spark a little bit if you touched it to something, and then take it off and let it build up some power.

I am getting my power tester tomorrow, to check all the connections. But before I go too much further, is my amp blown?

so your saying your not getting any power at all. i would check the power wire connection and make sure its secure and not corroded. too much corrosion can block the flow of power

Yea, checked the fuse under the hood after checking the connections. That was my first instinct //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The fuse appeared to be ok, looked the same as the day I put it in.

Iam getting power, but only sends a little power every little while, it's like it sends some power, then waits and builds up a little power, then sends more???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

The wire under the hood that went to the battery had some corosion underneath it, so I cleaned it off the best I could. After that I touched the wire directly to the post, still no bass or protect light.

The amp board appears to be fine, doesn't look like anything is burned up or anything. I think it might be a short in the cable or the battery is goin dead or something. Everything else in my car works fine, no lights dimming or anything. IDK what is wrong wit it. I have to leave my car sit at my grandmothers house since the ****** went out, so I do not have access to it right now, but I will tomorrow.

The fuse under the hood you need to replace it to make sure. I had the same problem before. I looked at the fuse and it looked OK so I moved on. I could'nt find the problem. So I took it to my audio guy. He replaced that fuse under the hood and bam it worked. It looked good to me but I felt like a dumba$$. Good luck.

I have one of those fuse that looks like the regular 15 fuses, but it is like alot bigger and it is 100A. Can I just do it ghetto style and put foil in it to test it?

How can you tell if the cable is burned up? Me=Newb:p:

Checked the live wire, and the remote, there is power to the trunk, but the amp still doesn't work. The protect light doesn't even come on. I took the amp apart, nothing looks out of the ordinary, checked all the connections. Nothing on the board looks blown.

What else could it be?
