And as for the heating of the amp, make sure the ground wires going into the amp are as short as possible.

Let me throw this in, as I wired everything up.

The batteries are wired for 12 volts, not 24.

The subs are strapped 2 per sub in series so they are 1.4 to the amps. So they are seeing .7 per amp. Warrantied to .5 so that should be no problem.

 

With the 84.xxx volts that were mentioned earlier. They were figuring out what voltage to set the gains at but the big question was what load to use? What the amps are getting together or what they see each? Someone mentioned what they see each in this thread so that was NOT what was used and it was decided to turn the gains down till the proper answer was got and the proper tools purchased. (clamp meter and o-scope)

 

The bass boost was turned all the way down and the slave amp had everything turned down. Gains included. If they should have been turned up, we didn't do that. Thought the master controlled them.

 

Was I disappointed? Yes and no.

Yes becasue he didn't get the score he wanted. I felt bad for him when smoke rolled out. But they aren't blown so that is a good thing.

No because they were freaking loud when he did turn it up. Just ask any of my neighbors. One guy came over and said we vibrated him out of his bed.

 

I would have liked to have more time to smooth the pods out and prime them and the amp rack. But shit happens.

 

I also discovered he likes bass way more than hearing his mids and highs.

And I got a very nice 12 hours of sleep before waking up to head out to the final Bucs game. Still tired though.

i may get flamed but it seemed like noone was 100% sure on what to do, so i dont know why it ws really messed with, but its unfortunate that it happened that way.
i did a 138.1 at 39 hz once the guy from floridaspl left. i had my shit ALL WRONG. Joel helped me out and we got it doing very well IMO. I pulled a ~136 on music, the Jhypnotized song, the first long low note.

Also, FOOD WAS THERE ****IT! WE SAID BRING YOUR OWN! IF YOU HAD A PROBLEM, you DID NOT READ. it was only a couple people, no names, and they said it TO ME, not knowing who i was, which i though was fairly comedic at the least.

was a very fun day though.

It was something easy. Apparently being tired and wiring do not go together.
