and damm, that door is so gorgeous on vid. seems hella heavy too, looked like a lot of force was put into slamming it shut. good stuff.

Dude, your interior is sick! If you come up with a stereo setup/display as sick as your interior work, you need to quit your day job and open up shop. SUPURB job!

Ok, well I can share my "method" with you, which I have refined through MUCH trial and error. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif Here are the steps I used:
(1) Sand peice with a 300-grit paper

(2) Wet sand with a 500-grit paper

(3) Apply 1 coat of Duplicolor adhesion promoter

(4) Paint with your desired color. Now, if you just using black, you can use Duplicolor Black Acrylic Enamel, and be done. BUT, if you are using a different color, it gets quite hairy...

(5) Once paint has cured, perform a 1000-grit wetsand

(6) Paint peice with one medium coat of Duplicolor Crystal Clear Acrylic enamel

(7) Wait 30mins

(8) Apply final wetcoat of DCCAE.

...another thing as that, and I cannot stress this enough, KEEP THE PEICE OUT OF THE SUN UNTIL FULLY CURED. Also, make sure you do this on a dry, warm day. Humidity will ruin the peice big time.

Now, for the crack, I would recommend using Rigid Two-Parts PLastic Repair Epoxy. Body filler will pull away from plastic peices over time, this stuff will not. Patch the crack, then sand. Prime the section with Duplicolor Filler Primer (FP101) to fill any holes or sanding marks. Then repeat the steps above.

Just TAKE YOUR TIME. If anything goes wrong, just take a quick 10 minute break and remember, you can always sand it and start all over again. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the PERFECT way, not that yours isnt a good way, but the BEST way to do it is :

1) get a dremmel and bevel the edges front and back sides.

2)get this style tape that is like cheese cloth, but it peels off of this tack paper and u can stick it down over the crack on the HIDDEN side once its beveled.

3)tape front side off

4) mix two part epoxy (reccomended 40/40 from duramix)

5) spread epoxy over the "cheese tape" and wait to dry.

6) spread over the front as well, let it dry

7) sand sand sand. 80 the spot, 220 to SMOOTH the spot out a little more. 400 the same spot and farther out, then where paint is still at, 1000 it so clear will stick.

if you are going from plastic to paint, DO NOT 1000 it. only got to 400.
