Detailing a car...anyone can do. Working with wood is not for everyone. Takes practice. I can pay the little kids near my house 5 bucks and they will detail the hell out of my car or motorcycle.

Obviously you dont know a thing about detailing. You see detailing as $5 work the same as I see people buying flea market speakers thinking their system will sound awesome.

yeah i can detail my car but prolly not nearly as good as someone that does it as a profesion.

some people couldn't care less about how something looks as long as it works the way they want. Function over form.
I myself would want it to be as perfect as possible. Function AND form.

I also love detailing my vehicles.Back in sping-summer from '94 - '02 I used to detail my vehicle every other weekend.Like most things, if you want a half assed job you can pay anyone $5.

I also agree with johnson.I don't care if the box is for me, a personal friend, or someone on the forums.I want it to be nice, I don't want split wood, gaps, crappy custs, excessive amounts of wood glue dripping down the box, etc.

Maybe box building isn't your "thing".

Splits are probably because you didnt snap a line down the mdf 3/8" from the edge(exact middle of 3/4 so your screws arent off center) and screwed in too close to the corner, give yourself about 2 inches from the corner edge, it will really help.

yes that is him.

I think detailing is quite a big challenge. Detailing is not like wiping your *** after takin a sh*t. Detailing is more like having *** with a virgin, it takes skills do.

ill have the finish done later. I have to do sanding and some other things and then cut out the sub holes out ill have pics up later.

maybe she is just sealing with caulk...doesnt hurt any thing as long as you dont put the subs in while the caulk is drying.
