dont use square rods, use round ones. why? you may ask? air flows over a rounded surface better than a squared surface.

Seeing that the best bracing technique involves putting an entire panel inside the box, I don't think that you'll be losing too many decibels. Besides that, a circular dowel doesn't have the surface area that a rectangular one does. You wind up sacrificing theory for rigidity.

Ramos, I personally use scrap MDF for large braces, but that box there doesn't need much. When it's .75" thick, u try to have more surface contact. But what do I know..NUTHYNG!
