Doesn't necessarily mean the Profile was overrated.
The JL could have just been underrated

The other thing, is the JL amp is tightly regulated (makes the same watts @12.6v with engine off, and @14v or whatever with it running) whereas the profile may not be so much. This could easily account for the "Dam!That shit is awesome!" factor when you first turned it on.

they arent all refurbs on the website. i have ...well look at my sig. they work very well and dont get hot, ever. these arent the first profile amps ive had either. if you arent loaded and want something good go for them!!
