Problems with upper notes on 18" Q

The 15's do not have this problem at ALL.

I would say box issues but I dunno since there are more than one person claiming this. Maybe a higher tuning

alright well some things must be different...high note on hypnotize will stop your breathing in my car...rock i cant say the same.

But on a serious note, i was thinking about running 18's till i read this thread. I want my subs to atleast play 50-65hz strong. Maybe i should choose 15's...

no no no no....go 18's if you can fit em youll never go back...like i said high notes on hypno are insane...maybe im talking over 80htz which is more of a midbass....

I was considering getting an 18 Q, but hmmm...

dvrmstrng, how much rock do you listen to? I listen to mostly rap, but I do listen to rock, would this thing sound good as long as you had some good midbass?

i listen to around 99% rap and 1% rock....and i literally have 0 midbass....the way things are set up now i have my bass at -4 so my 6x9's in my door arent even making any

if i had dedicated midbass (which i will just waiting for summer so i can make some money) with some 8's or 6.5's...youd be in the clear x1000....from what ive read a kick drum ranges from 80-130htz....a good set of midbass will take care of that...

im not....ive just heard people saying that an 18 should be able to reproduce rock music just as well as any other woofer...

i've never had any problem with my 15...... but its crossed over at 63hz.

i'm wondering about their midbass's too.
