problems with panasonic hu..

Just installed a panasonic hu and the radio works.. Powers up both amps. But the cd player and aux input doesn't work. Just bought brand new aux input to ipod connector and there is no sound wat so ever. I can turn the volume up and it shows the cd player playing the song but no sound. Any ideas why? Could the hu be broken?

I'll bet you accidently connected your amp turn on in the car harness to your antenna turn on in your stereo harness.

That's possible but I doubt it.. Ill have to re check tomorrow.. Would that cause only the radio to play sound?

yes, that is why I suggested it. If your factory amp is connected to your decks power antenna wire, then the power antenna wire is only turning your amp on when listening to the radio.

Ahhhh makes 100% sense! The guy @ best buy wired the deck weird before so when I went to undo things, half the wiring went through the wire harness and like 3 others went straight to the stereo harness. And there were 3 wires jus taped off.

lmao. any bay is only as good as their installers...

but anyways, yeah. if it's a mess then cut the ends off and start from scratch. Will take 10 minutes and give you piece of mind knowing everything is connected properly.
