Mu first post and a total n00b to car audio. I'm wondering if anyone has any input for my question.
Here is what I have
CD 5423 HU 5v out
Rockford Fosgate HX2 12" Sub on a Fosgate 551s
rear speakers SPX-177a
front speakers SPX-177r all hooked up to a Alpine f-450.
I just bought and had the SPX177r's installed to the front speakers along with the alpine amp by a shop. When I picked up my truck (F-150) I noticed right away that the new speakers 177r were not as "bright" as the rear 177a's, something did not seem right. Upon opening up my front door panels I noticed the tweeters were hooked up to the crossover "tweet in", and not the out. I looked at the manual diagram and it shows "TW Out" Thinking this would make a difference I switched them, but, still seems dull, or flat. My settings on the alpine amp for cross overs is set to 90, same as my fosgate amp for the sub. The tweeters are in the same location as the mid, the cross overs are set to distance zero and pretty much the same setting as I have for the older spx-177a's that I have in the rear. Since buying this amp I thought it would bring a bigger punch for sound, so far I am not noticing a difference.
Are both amps supposed to have dedicated connections to the HU? Or should the 4 channel amp be connected to the Fosgate? Right now they are independent to the HU. As for the Gain on the 4 channel amp it's up a 1/4" as advised by Alpine because of the 5v Eclipse. Anyone have any ideas? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
