problems with my mono amps...

Hooked up my nine.1 and my hifonics 1606 today to my jl 10w3 just to make sure they worked, and neither produced enought power to make it louder that the original amp(one in my sig) regardless of how i tuned it... so

is there a special trick to tuning mono amps?

and my dmm wouldn't work, so what setting does it need to be turned to?

use to work but since i havn't used it in a while, i forgot which:crying:

What voice coil configuration is the sub? You may be running the mono amps at 4 ohms so they are not putting out full power.

yea i ran them at 4 then two, they are rated at just as much as the rf at 4 ohms but the bass was much much less and it says like 900 at 2 but it was barley anything

need to run the amps at 1 ohm to get full power.4 4ohm coils paralelled = 1 ohm, 2 2 ohm paralelled = 1 ohm.

i no i no but the amps are both rated at ~400 at 4 ohms and much more~800-900 at 2 ohms, but neither really produced that much at either. the hifonics didn't put out the 300 b/c my rockford amp was pushing it harder than either the nine.1 or 1606.
