problems with jvc kw avx 810

Hey everyone i have a kw avx 810 head unit, i like it a lot other than the fact that the ipod interface through usb is painfully slow, i had a few questions, will the jvc ks pd100 ipod interface speed things up whatsoever? do i have any other solutions? also i do enjoy the speed of interface through my thumbdrive but if for example i leave the thumbdrive in the car plugged in, then start the engine the deck will continuously say reading but will not do anything else, i have to turn off the head unit, unplug the drive, turn the unit back on then replug the drive in. does anyone have any remedies?
