problems with jbl600

i put a jbl600 in my brothers car. i hooked it up to two punh he2's (dual 4 ohm). i wired the negative two the positive and positive and negative two the amp. (series). i did em both like this so the amp should see a 4 ohm load. the problem is the amp is cutting off. the red light stays on and the green light flashes. i looked in the manual and didnt see anything about a flashing green light. please help

because my lil brother plays his music very loud. he doesnt understand gain control. maybe that's a lame excuse but oh well.
