problems with ARC amp

it's put on a four wheeler speaker box which is totally in closed, and its hooked directly to the ipod, but the other day the volume was only half way and it worked fine and then if you turned it up it would cut off and make a weird pop noise andnot work

any suggestions onhow to fix it?
