i had a thread last week about my headunit not working, and i still can't get it to work properly.

i hardwired the 12v constant and acc wires directly to the business but it won't turn off when i turn the car off. but i wired it 'correctly' to the car harness and it won't turn on. then i wired the 12v constant AND the ACC to the 12v constant wire on the car and it wouldn't turn OFF. and the weird thing is, it would even come on when the ground wasn't hooked up.

sorry if this doesn't make much sense but if someone understands what i'm talking about please help!!!!

constant needs to have 12v all the time

acc needs to have 12v when the key is on and 0 when off

ground must be attached to complete the circuit

acc turns the unit on and off

doesnt get much more straightforward then that.

make sure you dont have any blown fuses in the fuse box. That could be why the unit wont work properly when wired "correctly"

Maybe the wire you have been thinking was the ground isn't really the ground? Unless the unit is getting enough of a ground just by being mounted, or the ground wire just happened to be leaning against/sitting on the chassis and providing a ground source?

well, i got my headunit working kind of... still needs tweaking and it doesn't turn off w the key. i just can't figure out the ACC. its like my car doesn't have a wire for it. can i tap into the A/C for it?

Or you can take it to a crappy install place like Best Buy. They'll probably do a better job for about $50 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

after driving around for a while i realized that when i turn on my lights i get a slight buzzing feedback from my speakers. when i turn them off it goes away (this is only when the headunit is turned on)... any ideas on how to fix this?
