Problems Installing 4-Channel Amp, Pleas Help!

Alright, so I picked up a MB Quart DSC480 to match my MB Quart DSC1500.1D and now I am having problems with its installation.

As an FYI, I had an infinity 4-channel that worked perfectly with the exact same connections.

Some how, I can get my rear 6.5" Alpine Type S coaxials to sound fine at times, but I'm mainly having problems with my front components. My 6.5" Alpine SPX-17REF will somewhat work, but then cut out and sometimes have an echoing.

Also, for some reason when I fade my speakers all the way to the front, one of the rear speakers will stay on. In addition, when I have the fade all the way to the front and balance the speakers all the way to the right or all the way to the left, only the front left component will play no matter the direction. Only when the balance is centered or near centered, the front right component will play.

Another strange thing that happens is that when I have my subwoofer turned "off" on the headunit, it'll come on when I start to turn up the volume. I have no idea why it would even turn on since it is connected to another amp and has a different set of RCA cables. I haven't had this particular problem either until I switched 4-channels.

Later today I am going to try a different ground and swap in a different amp for testing purposes, but so far I am pretty stumped. I think I may have a faulty amp, but can someone please shed some light on my situation?

I would say it would be more in your deck. Your 4 channel isn't wired to the sub amp is it?
The only thing that the 4-channel and sub amp share are the remote wire. When I added my old 4-channel, I tapped into my existing remote wire and ran another wire to the 4-channel..this worked fine. When I unplugged the remote wire to the sub, it finally stopped coming on, but the speakers still sounded weird.

It could possibly be my deck, but I haven't had any problems at all until now. Literally, it has been about a week since my old 4-channel was taken out. It is an Alpine CDA-9887 by the way.

search on here for the MB Quart 4 channel, like DSC 4125 ect as it seems they are a little touchy and weird. Just reading here about them yesterday

As far as the sub comming on, the deck may turn the sub back on once you start turning the volume up? Did you verify that? Otherwise unless your running the rca's passed through the 4channel amp its not possible

Alright, I'll do a search on that amp. I couldn't find anything about my particular amp when I searched.

With the sub turning on while it was set to off, I triple checked that it was off. For some freakish reason it still turned on though. Something isn't right and I see why it "should not" be possible, but it happened. I'm going to put in another amp right now to see if it is my head unit or a faulty amp.

Alright, I got it narrowed down to either the headunit or the RCA's. I plugged my Ipod into the amp through a headphone jack to RCA connector. The amp worked just fine and my front components sounded great. I guess I'm going to order a new pair of 4-channel RCA's and if that doesn't solve my problem, then I'll have to shop for a new headunit.

Finally figured out the problem...the thing that went bad are the the RCA ouputs for the speakers on my head unit. The subwoofer outputs still work perfectly fine and so do running the speakers off of the head unit. However...I need to amp my speakers so the head unit will be going up for sale.
