Ok so I'm stumped. I have only installed one headunit, and i nig rigged the shit out of it. Anyways, my old HU got stolen, so im putting in this 'daewoo' pos hu for temp and i ran into a problem. The old hu had an orange wire that was fused that u hooked up to constant(orange) which was marked with a tag that says "battery(+)". Now on this new Hu, I want to make sure I hook up the right thing to the constant orange wire in my car. The only wires i have to hook up to this are either the ACC red wire, or the wire labeled on the bottom of my hu as 'back up'. I don't know which one to put to constant, and i already hooked up the acc from hu to the yellow wire which my old hu's acc wire was connected to...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

sorry if the wording makes it confusing, but i am sick of crusin with no beats, ya know? im a little flustered

If I understood you correct, the orange wire from your car (constant 12V) will get hooked up to the yellow wire on the new HU. The yellow wire from your car (acc) will get hooked to the red wire of the new HU.

I got power, i got sound....but for some reason the radio is only picking up static, and when i hook my ipod up to the rca inputs....i get the static from the radio and no music from my ipod.....

HAHAHA i forgot to plug the ant in....ROFL...thanks for the no brainer man hahahahahahaha lmao.

yeah, idk how to switch into aux on this...on my last hu i just had to put it to a station that didn't get reception and then turn volume on hu down to 1....(these are early 90's hu's that i get free because im a broke idiot)...ill do some searching on this hu and see if it has aux because i didn't see a button for it

i got no 30 bucks. and in my experience those fm transmitters r no fun. i had one b4 and i tried the rca bit and it had better sound quality, plus more reliable as far as not cutting out or getting static.

maybe in the near future when i have monies i will talk more about buying that from you if i cant figure out the rcas on this hu, but i was just trying to hook this up fast,

1. because ive had no music for over a week.

2. because i have to drive 2 hours today and i wanted tunes.

3. where im driving gets no radio signal to good stations, so i wanted my ipod

4. for some reason, it appears my curse of not having a working cd player in my car has continued so im stuck with ipod or radio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

edit:

i was supposed to leave for my drive about 30 mins ago, but i refused to go without at least radio, now im pushing on refusal without ipod...anyone know a trick to make ipod work? i cant figure out aux on this thing, and i searched online and everything in a diff language or not what i need

well im gonna go drive now....for some reason the cds wont play, so i guess im stuck with radio for a bit...oh well better than nothing. thanks everyone for the help.

3 pimp is probably right. If it's an older HU there probably is no Aux input. I think you normally just have to press source, and it there is something on the Aux input, then it will pick it up. I could be wrong though.

If you're going that far, you may as well just forget the IPod, and kick it truly old school with the 8-Track. I'm pretty sure my parents still have some good Elvis for ya.

thats the thing, my old hu had a source button...but i didn't have to push it. it was probably the same age as this hu....and this one has a removable faceplate, so im thinking maybe this is even newer? idk. but on my old hu, i didnt have to push ANY buttons for it to pick up the ipod hooked up to the rca's...all i did was turn it on, put hu vol to 1, and control volume and sound quality on the i pod itself...i just had to put it on ANY radio station, although the ones that would only pick up white noise worked best...idk i guess it just sucks im without ipod and cds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
