Prices of Professional Installation?

I just finished buying my system the other day. I got 2 12" type-r's, bx1500d, and an eclipse 8455. I plan on purchasing some front speakers in about a month, but I'm goin to go ahead and install the other stuff now because I won't have a chance for awhile. I'm going to get the type-r's ported so I will need to have box built for me 2. I know prices will depend on the shop, but I want to have some general idea of what the prices will be before I go in there. So can someone give me an idea of what it will cost to get all of this installed into my car. I drive a 01 330i if that matters. It doesn't need to be anything special, I just want it to look clean, neat, and sound good and loud.

I know I should just install the stuff myself, but I leave for college in a couple days, and I play basketball there so I don't really have any free time to do this with practice and studying.

Also I was planning on goin to my local car toys, or aspen sound. Should I try a place like Best Buy or Circuit City or should I avoid them??

Depends on where you go...there are places that will do custom labor for 40 bucks/ hr, and places (like where I go) that charge 65 an hour, that do much better work. Id say about 350-400 for the box to be built and the install.

35 install cd player

35 dash kit and wire harness

50 4 guage amp kit

85 install amp and woofers

25 Misc. items(speaker wire, shop supplies)

235 at least thats would we would charge excluding the box build

Like snb posted above it will vary. Some shops are less expensive, but doesnt Always mean their work isnt up to par with others. Although being that you already bought the stuff, some may steer you away or jack the price up just due to that fact.

BB and CC are 50/50, but from what I understand they wont install products not purchased from them.

A BB by me just told me that they will install anything that I bring them, with the exception of an opened power cable. This includes used items. I figure I will have my stuff installed there, buy the speakers, amp and subs online and purchase the wiring from them. I will save a small fortune. The few guys I spoke to today actually had a clue and seemed to know that they were talking about.

I'll install just about anything anyone brings in to have done as long as:

a)it is not obviously stolen

b)they understand that I will not guarantee anything to work

c)it isn't safe- i.e. 10ga. wire on an 800w amp (I've had worse)

Thnx for the replies guys. I'll probably go check out aspen sound and car toys tomorrow and see what they say now that I have some idea of what it might cost.

what college do u play basketball for?
I play for central washington university

bb and cc=no way... imo
x2 unless you want your system do die out on you somewhere down the road like Ive heard so many times. They seem to have more incompetent installers then competent ones. Like the geniouses that ran the amp power cable along the outside next to the exhaust on fatryans car lol.

a i never really had that problem

b is critical. kids come in with busted up subs and legacy amps.

c gets funny sometimes. had a guy come in that wanted his SINGLE 4 10" comps wired to a half ohm and a kicker 600.1. i tried to explain to him you can't wire them to a half ohm... that was a half hour I will not get back.
