Pretty Dumb Question...

Thanks man, yeah I know I was just gonna let all the people saying it was stupid to have two different size/brand subs slide, I mean, if you judge it by that then technically people should buy the same brand headunit, subs, amps, wires, and speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and some companies don't even make headunits! So they would be screwed hehe. It really does sound clean and tight, it's definitely the best I've ever had, I've been into the audio ever since I got my license which was two years ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
No because using 2 different size subs, as stated above, can cause cancellation and sound like ****. Having the same brands on anything else means squat. Why do you think people use different tweets and midbass speakers that are different companies? It is dumb to use 2 different size subs in the trunk. Put those 8's in your doors as midbass and you won't hear anyone saying its stupid. Different location, no cancellation.

It's not so much Different location, no cancellation as assigning a different duty to the speaker through the high/low pass crossovers that would eliminate cancellation.

buying the same brand of gear is different than mixing up speaker sizes powered by the same amp. the former causes no issues and the latter causes several issues. in the future, avoid doing this again. you'll sound even better and avoid giving different power to different speakers.

after 18 years, i've only gotten better, and i'm a lot better than i was 16 years ago. the best thing you can do is pay attention to build logs for competitors. recognize that a lifetime of learning is ahead of you, and enjoy!
