Just about anything can be covered under bolted/welded on, trucks are much easier to work on than cars too (least in my opinion) Those Ford rangers your showing are using modified TTB (Twin traction Beam, 4wd term) setup suspension. Bolt on kits for even 4wd trucks with this supsension can fairly easily get 14" of travel. Most of them you show are 2wd though but the setup and geometry is mostly the same.
Also the ones you are showing are probably mid level modified, can make a prerunner (or prerunner styled truck) for much cheaper than some. That trophy truck will cost a helluva lot more than $20k for a chassis. I think a rolling chassis for a baja low grade trophy truck is up around $100k.
I am guessing the ranger is a pretty good platform for these, I know I have seen lots of yota's too out there. But ranger seems like it would work good, I'm sure the desert shops have bolt on long travel coil over kits and axle beams for the front end, convert it to a healthy 302 V8 from a mustang with a C6 or so ***** and a 8.8" axle from the mustang and should be doing pretty good. For the looks department get a prerunner bumper (or light bar since its pretty much all they are) and maybe some fiberglass fenders
