im thinking of picking up a pair or these and porting them , anybody got any info or a website that sells em besides ebay?

They are a very good sub for a good price. You will be happy with that choice. Try ikesound.com. They are dirt cheap there but there servive sucks ***. I would pay a few extra bucks at onlinestereo.com. Goodluck!

awesome awesome speaker imo. although i have the 3002spl model, there still the same sub for hte most part. very very loud for the price, i currently have 1 ported in a 1.7cu ft. @27Hz box, and it gets plenty loud and also pumps out the low's like a champ. will still retaining great sq. also, its being powered by a jbl bp600.1 amp(700+watts) @1ohm. id deffinetly reccomend this sub to you, infact, id hightly reccomend it to you. aswell as last years models(2000/1500 spl's) you can find them on ebay for decent prices aswell.

just realized your going to be doing two ported:naughty:

what will you be powering it with? i kind of want to pick up one more, but on the other hand, the single 12 is already pretty **** loud. and id like to keep my hearing aslong as possible(the old brahma 15setup deffinetly didnt help )

hey BIGBANGTHEORY i read youre post on that other thread that you were gona pick these up and you had type R's before, those two are on my list because for around 100$ these look the bets(had the originall R and liked it, can only imagine the new one) how do you say these did compared to the R's?

And to the people with experience with these , couple of question concerns.

POWER- they are rated 1000rms a sub, i got a crossfire 1000, sure it does more than that but wondering how these are gona perform with 600 MOST to each.

OUPUT- i saw the xmax is SHORT as hell, 11mm , the other sub im considering TYPE-R has 18 mm , it has considerably much longer throw, so i know you guys said the low end is crazy on this but im skeptical?

DIFIRENCE- you guys mentioned a couple of models(3002,3004) what the difirence? i dont want the one that was 3db's quiter obviously bust just wondering.

wich would guys pick the TYPE-R or these SPL-3004'S.

truthfully, with 600 watts, i think you'll be very happy. like i said, mines only getting 700ish and it ****ing slams.... and this thing MOVES, i was blown away, and very cautious at first because i read the low xmax rating, but god ****. trust me, moves just as much as any of the new type r's ive seen, and more than my 10" se did. ill try to get a pic up if the excursion tommorow. i was very impressed with it. either way, im pretty sure you'll be pleased with them. if you have anymore questions, just let me know.

and the difference beetween the 3004/2 modesl is the 3004 is dual 4ohm, and the 3002 is dual 2ohm.

i was also in debate on wheter or not to jump on the type r band wagon, and i chose to be different because no one else i knew/very few on this forum had the premiers. all in all, im very happy with my choice, and dont regret it one bit.
