Premier ODR

The ODR system is nice...but very expensive... not worth it when you can get the P9 setup for about 1/3 the cost.

I have the P9 combo and I've heard an ODR system such as the one in the link. I love my P9 combo but it does NOT compare to the ODR set up. Would it be worth it to me with my current financial situation...NO, but if I had that much on me to burn I would snatch that up in a heartbeat.

That setup is very similar to Sony's old Mobile ES that they used to sell in the states. Sadly, like alot of other high end audio setups they're no longer available in North America because today's enthusiasts have jumped on the "bang for the buck" band wagon and "PURE" sound quality is of little interest. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The setups I can recall that focus on SQ only would be the following:

Premier ODR (no longer available)

Premier P9 combo (still available) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Clarion DRX-9255 (no longer made) and replaced by

Clarion DRZ-9255 (still available)

Sony Mobile ES (no longer available)

McIntosh MX406 (still available) -- but very expensive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

If anyone knows the model numbers on the Sony ES stuff please post them.

Or if anyone has anything to add to this list please do.

the z-50 was the top of the line es. i think they only brought a handful over here they sold for 8 grand. was a deck changer processor combo (dont remember if it came with amps but i doubt it) then there was the c-90 and xdp-4000x combo i have that and like it pretty well. it is probably the most detailed sounding deck i have owned.

DAMMM......I've posting so much in the last couple of days I just now realized (20 posts too late) that I've gone over the 1,000 post mark.

Woo hoo....... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Gotta love those decks..........wow.......8 grand.

What does your combo consist of ??.......deck and processor???

yup your p-9 processor is easier to set up than a xdp 4000 and has a few xover adjustments that and an easier eq to set up but in turn the xdp has other adjustments to make up for it. you either love the 4000 or hate it but from who i seen hate it that had one never dug into all its features and i can say that honestly
