you will need to buy the external thing that has the eq and TA adjustments for it to be worht the money. But yes great cd player. If you want one tha has everything in one unit I woulds recomend the p880 but if your getting it cheap go for it

what exactly is cheap? You will also need the, if you will "brain" for it as well. I was looking at it very hard and it is a **** fine unit. I don't think you could go wrong with it. It decided myself, if I am going to dump more than a grand on a unit I am **** well going to be buying from a AUTHORIZED source just incase something would go south. I ended up going with the deck in my sig. and got it authorzed for the reason stated. Is one better than the other? I cant say but after reading review after review you see my choice. (**** P9 from my dealer was $1800) **** nice deck regardless:yumyum:

Actually the P9 deck by itself is a very nice high quality headunit and can be used as a stand alone CD player. It has 3 sets of 4 volt preamp outputs. It is XM Ready. It just doesn't have all the bells and whistles the other Premier headunits have. You could always use and outboard crossover and eq. Nothing says you have to use the P9 processor with it. However, I would HIGHLY suggest you do if you can find one. I have the combo and plan on installing it this spring.
