I just have to rant about this because i am just utterly blown away. I hooked up the mic and got out of the car, smoked a cig and i heard these buzzing tones coming from in the car, on the screen it said exactly what it was doing and before my cig was done it said it was complete. I got back in and WOW what a difference, i didnt think it would be that much of an audible difference but it definatly made my night. I am one that hates sound quality and love SPL but the clear and crisp sound that i heard without the subs was just phenominal and its only going to get better with subs.

The tuning is impecible on this unit and i recommend it to EVERYONE... Looks baddass, userbility is baddass and it sounds baddass.....

I lost 3+ dBs when I switched over to the 880prs. no complaints since I'm not a SPL guy prefer SQ all the way. This HU definitely kicks azz.

I really don't know, I was metered 143.9 with pioneer premier p8mp HU with no auto TA or anything. Can barely break 140 with the 880prs with the auto TA. As i said before I don't care about the loss much since I'm not a SPL guy, but makes you wonder what happened.

Same equipment with different head units yield 3db difference, in my case atleast. lets see if anyone else can chime in.

It loses spl because it adjusts the bass to give the entire system a more natural sound with less bass emphasis which most people have more of typically. You should try the imprint with Alpine, you get almost NO bass.

I have had nothing but excellent results when using the auto TA as a STARTING point. I find that I have to sometimes tweak the fader to get more of an "up front" sound. Also found that reversing the phase of the sub can help boost the lows, without messing up the flat response too much.

so can you have it auto set and then adjust the sub settings on the deck to get the lost output back? or is it locked on the auto settings once you use it unless you go back to manual?
