Prefab boxes are prefabricated in a factory. Custom built boxes are built to suit the needs of your install. Custom boxes tend to be much better in quality if designed well and built well.

IMHO, a custom enclosure tuned to your liking and power capabilities is always better than any prefab box.

The box that I mentioned to you in that other thread will get off a good deal more on the same power with the same subs. It's what we put all dual 12 setups in if we can fit it in the car and if a smaller enclosure/sub combo would not perform better.

I would buy a custom prefabbed fiberglass box though. Like one of those stealthboxes JL makes....if I got a good deal on it.
