Bass keeps cutting out

So after a few minutes my bass cuts off and i have to lower the volume and then it wil kick back in... volume was around 22/30 gain is 1/4 of the way up...

any ideas on whats going on? my setup is in my sig..

happens to me too.. but only on particularly demanding tracks and near max volume. Maybe I need to turn my gains down a bit.

Its a voltage drop.. your starving the system of power. Look into upgrading your wiring and completing the big 3 upgrade. Next look into a beefier battery and then a High Output alternator.

sounds like your system is clipping, need more power like others said or try a cap

May not be that you need more power but that could be a possibility. How is your electrical system right now?

stock 145 amp alt, stock battery.. 4awg wire kit.. only when i got the volume up 23+/30 it starts to dim and recently been cutting off.. i have been messing with the amp settings a little bit and might have fixed it.. im gonna get a deep cycle battery soon though and ill see how that goes

dont try a cap, i hate when people have caps. its useless, the money u spend on a cap, juss get a **** batt. geezz and then u see there voltage dipping into the 10s. wtf

Couple things I notice...

4awg wire kit...1200rms+whatever it may be clipping I would step up to 2 or 1/0awg (My opinion)

Next...where is your ground? Is it tight? was it sanded good? This can cause it to shut down when current demand is greater then your ground.

Last...ligts diming and electrical items cutting off is a bad sign, check your connections to make sure they are tight, do a "big 3" upgrade (it does help) Look into a better battery or alt if your draw is more then what you system can produce.

145a @ 40% reserve =58a allowed to the stereo...

1200 watt amp/12.8v=~93a max current draw.

If the amp is clipping you are more into the current draw. IMO it really sounds like you need to up your electrical system. Take a DMM and hook it up to your + and - terminals on your amp. Play some music with you car running at idle (max listening volume you listen to) If the voltage EVER gets below 13v you know you have a problem.
