I know that the new Precision Power amplifiers tend to do well in the various issues of Performance Auto and Sound (PASMAG | PERFORMANCE AUTO AND SOUND - Precision Power PC640.4 Amplifier and PASMAG | PERFORMANCE AUTO AND SOUND - Test Report: Precision Power P900.4 Amplifier) BUT knowing their parent company, Epsilon Electronics, it's hard to get past the stigma of their prior products (Kole, SPL, Power Acoustik). Because of their prior products, I wonder what corners they cut when reviving the old school names of Soundstream and Precision Power. I find it awfully hard to believe they produced a quality product at the price point they typically go for.

As the old sayin' goes "You get what ya pay for!"
Not always because there are some diamonds in the rough out there. The Clarion DPX1851 was the best $150 I ever spent on an amplifier that output 850 watts RMS at 2 ohms when Crutchfield was blowing them out. It's all a matter of being in the right place at the right time and knowing what you are looking at!

Those are good amps/memphis,Looks like 2nd line of amps made after the Fultron series,???Cant tell, but those are **** good amps too.IMO,I had a Belle that I got rid of back in96,that I kck myself in the A## everyday for...!!!! Why dont you have that Xtant hooked up bro??CRX..Even a pair of 2ch old school amps are great.4ch are a bit more, and you can pick up a 2ch easier.Ya that memphis looks nice.Is that a 50x2 maybe??
Naw its a 4ch, so is 50x4

So your saying any new 100x4 for 150 or less is going to preform worse then my current memphis 50x4?

I ran the MBQ onxy125.4 for a few weeks and IDC what anyone says it either does rated or **** close. I sold it cause I did not like look of the amp or the feel. Lots of plastic but it was cheap so it was to be expected..

One of my friends recently returned all his MB Quart Q series amplifiers. While the subwoofer amp (Q1.1500D) was solid, BOTH Q4.150s had issues.

old school all day long. dont trust it if it wasnt made in the USA.....
Well then you might as well throw your radio, wiring, interconnects, tweets, midranges, midbasses, batteries, sub amp, subwoofer, and deadening in the garbage, because they probably werent produced in America either. On top of that, why not trash your entire computer since that was not built in this country either?

Just because something is new and made in another country doesnt mean its necessarily junk. You people sound just as bad as the shops you make fun of who say every product is junk unless its JL, Rockford, Kicker, Alpine, or any other mainstream product they push.

Now as for an answer that could possibly be somewhat helpful to the OP, I recently bought a set of PPI Art series 6.5" comps to put in my truck so I had some speakers to sell it with. For $70 shipped, they sound pretty **** good. Build quality was good for the price I paid, and the features were great. Bi-ampable crossovers, and the mids themselves are convertible from components to coaxials, with a replacement machines aluminum phase plug if you decide to run as a component set. I am quite impressed with the sound out of such a cheap product. If the amp is anything like the speakers, expect a solid amp for the price. May not be the best amplifier the world has ever seen, nor does it reinvent the wheel, but it will get the job done for the price point you are in. Also, with 2 30a fuses, the power ratings being true are possible. Now having fusing that allows the rms to be possible does not make the ratings true, but definitely makes it a possibility. On top of that, it has a great THD and S/N ratio for an amp of that price range. Dont believe the whole idea of "dirty" power. If the amplifier is set properly and not overdriven, you will not be able to tell the difference between company A's watt and company B's watt. Anybody else who tells you any different is a moron who is blinded by a company's name or mystique.

If youre looking for a solid amp at that price level, Id say its definitely worth a shot.

Finally someone chimes in that isnt all anti PPI. I for one am going to purchase the new black ice series for my next install. While it may be true that the quality fell off, that was due to DEI owning the PPI name and building garbage amps. New ownership is trying to change that. The specs on the new amps look pretty good for their prices.

Now with that being said, not all of us want to drop thousands in car stereo equipment. Their are different levels of buyers. If there werent then everyones stuff would be the same. You have to build different stuff at different prices to suit different needs. Is PPI as great as they once were? I dont know. Neither does anyone else on here unless they have hooked them up and run side by side tests. But times have changed, the market overall for high end car audio has suffered, the economy being what it is. These days I need the most bang for my buck.

I'm all about giving ppi an opportunity to shine again at this price point. I'm also looking at their new head units, which look pretty sick and are loaded with features.

Thats just my 2 cents...
