I couldn't have done a better explanation... and I'm an EE.
I've been leery of Class D for years because of the reputation for low damping factor and distortion at high frequencies, but that rep is waay outdated with the current generation of amps. Technology marches on.

This is what is cool about the class D's.The PPI PH900.4 exhibits less than .05%THD all the way out to @ 130 watts rms, and does not hit 1% THD until 150 watts rms output.

A visual of that wide band frequency response showing that LPF at 20khz on out to 100khz...pretty dang flat from 10hz -20khz.

some interesting pieces of equipment for sure!! What about soundstream?! ive been reading alot about them..anything that compares to the ppi900.4 or anything better?
