Precision Flared Port question

whatever length the calculator gives, subtract 5" and cut the center piece to that. the PSP come with a slip of paper that tell you to do this...and the formula to use.

so the 9.36 is wrong?
i am wanting 2 cu ft net tuned at 32hz using a single 4" PSP...what is everyone else getting and how did you get that answer?
ok...using the formula in my sig....

[(14630000 x 4) / (1024 x 3456)] - 1.463 x 2

(58520000/3538944) - 2.926

13.6...since it's a PSP we'll subtract another 5" (each flare end is 2.5")

8.6"....cut your center to this

your port displacement is 170.8cu" or 0.1cu'

aah so i was right the first time. the wood thickness doesnt count towards the top?

ahh i see. i guess it be better just to measure it like you said DJ, so there is no confusion to be sure. Smart man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

but would require an 8.6" center piece cut, if we are going by the formulas.

nope...not in this case...it would if you were doing a slot, then you would consider the .75" since it would be added length (or subtracted for a port wall cut sheet) not to mention that the lip of the port mounts to the outside front of the box, if it was mounted to the inside, it would be a different story....and you probably wouldn't be using a PSP.

the psp calc is for GROSS volume.(per the psp guy).
the PSP calc is the same calc i have in my sig...only they use cu feet version instead of inches and convert to the 14630000 to 8466.435...then just subtract the 5" for the length of the flares.

ok, same question different numbers to get reassurance from you guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif 32hz would be way too long, and i oud out i have more space since this calculator uses gross and not net so new numbers.

So I cut center piece to 3.74" correct?
