preamp outputs?

i think so

im not sure

i think its because the jl have built in crossovers

so it would be the same thing as using a regular amp and hookin it up to a crossover

can somone clarify this?

The RCA outputs on the JL amps are pass throughs. All amps will have crosovers on them, whether it be a class A/B amp or a class D mono block. The reason for having a pass through is for one of two reasons. First is i you have a head unit that only has 1 set of RCA outputs or your are using a line out converter for signal. Having the pass through will alow you to run a multi amp system that way. Also, let say you were running 4 subs abd wanted to amp each sub with its own amp, well the pass through on the amp would run into the signal input on the other amps and so on. Only draw back to this is with each amp the signal passes through you will lose singal voltage.

Everything that needed to be said was said so.........
