So i finally got my PG 8v line driver and i must say i hope i am able to install it the way i want too.

Anyway

my original plans were to put the line driver in my trunk and just jump the + and - and rem off of my amp. Quick easy and painless..

well i get the driver today and it says that it needs to be installed as close as possible to the headunit..

I really REALLY dont want to have this box in the front of my car taped up somewhere so it cant be seen.

So i ask, does it REALLY make a difference where you put it?

here is the exact model:

PG TLD 22 2 channel line driver

heh, alright ill get her in. I must be nuts because its -10 out and im going to put this in. I wont even be able to hear how it sounds till it gets warmer, the rubber on the sub is ROCK solid so it barely moves.

find your target voltage output you want..... example lets say 30 volts, divide that by 2, you get 15......turn your gain down on the amp and turn one of the dials on the line driver until you get 15, then turn the other until you get 30..... and your done

Wha? I was just going to turn the gain on the PG till i got about 5v or 6v from the RCA's then turn my gain down on the amp to match my 40v output.

heh, the gain on the amp wont be turned past 40v. ill be able to handle it.

Edit: unrelated to this but my subwoofer in my trunk is litterally FROZEN. It has frost on it..

That cant be good for when it gets warm in the spring.

well screw that, its so cold that the RCA wire got frozen solid and wouldnt bend or move at all and it suspended the line driver like 6" in the air, all my speaker wire did the same thing and then they started pulling out of the terminals.. Total bullisht. I need to A. Do this in a HEATED garage or B. Wait till it gets close to 25 or 30 degrees.

Right now its -14 f.
