horizontally or vertically mounted?

I'm making an amp rack at school for the trunk of my car. I was reading online it is better to mount the amp vertically for airflow, but i was going to have the rack on 2 inch high legs, I havent put the legs on yet so should i just ditch that and make the rack mount vertically? Or does it not even matter?

it's going to be for an audioque 1200.

Hmm, well almost all of the cooling is on the top, so as long as there are 2-3" of space over the fins, I'd say anyway you like.
