pre amp install.......kind of confused.

I would like to run of course my aux input from the excelon deck to the preamp. On top of it on the pre amp it has an input for radio inputs. Could someone give me a crash course when it comes to wiring up rcas from the head unit to the preamp then back to the two mono amps and two four channels. any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Pre amp has two inputs CD/radio inputs then has three outputs front/rear/sub

What make and model preamp?

What make and model amps are you connecting the preamp to (all of them)?

Why are you using a "preamp"?

Your head-unit has separate 5volt Front, Rear and Sub RCA outputs.

Connect these directly to the appropriate amp channels and you are good-to-go.

I would wire like this:

HU Front RCAs directly to Ch1/2 of KX amp then amp ch1/2 outputs to front l/r speakers

HU Rear RCAs directly to Ch3/4 of KX amp then amp ch3/4 outputs to rear l/r speakers

HU Sub RCAs into one HiFonics sub amp then that amp's RCA out over to the other HiFonics sub amp

Ditch the pre/EQ - it isn't going to add anything (may actually make things worse IMO)
