PPI's Tweeters

Hello, If I were to replace the PPI tweeters with something else , something that would be a little less crisp...not that I'm complaining..they are fine...just thinking......what would be a couple different ones to check out ?

too crisp? is that the same thing as being to harsh or being overheard over the mid

if this is the case and you're running passive, just attenuate the tweeter to -3db. You won't really find smoother tweeter...

I think I might have one going bad, I hear a little crackeling sounds every once in a while. Is there any out there that compare to these ?

Return policy is 1 year from date of purchase from an authorized dealer. No new PPI Products have been released since Earlie 2007 so all old items are discontinued. You will not get an exact replacement, only something comparable. If if is still under warranty, they may give you something from the new 2010 line up.

If the tweeters are liquid cooled, you may hear some crackling as they're warming up. It may be something you really never noticed before but notice now. It this is the case, it's normal.

If attenuating them on the xover doesn't help, you may be overpowering them. Whenever Ive pushed mine a little too hard Ive noticed the tweeter can get harsh. If that doesn't work it may be worth it to try changing the location and angling of the tweeter. Just get some tape and try it in different places. Also, check any equalizer settings on your head unit.
