i recently got one of these and i built a box for my 2 premier 4 ohm dvc 10's. its running at a 4ohm mono load. the amps rated at 600x1 @4ohm but it also states that it doubles its rated power at that load. (so 1200). i have the gain all the way up, and im not really hearing any distortion from the subs, but i have a feeling since they are rated 350 rms its just a matter of time before the subs go out on me. what do yall think? also if i was to put a different set of 10's to this amp, what would be recomended? i wanted to try the premier spl's but then again i wanna save some money. Elemental designs? looking for some serious spl here.

Turn the gain down, it isn't a volume control per se but you can use it to limit power going to your subs. Power levels isn't nearly as likely to toast a sub as clipping the amp is. High gain settings is how you clip an amp. High power, combined with clipped amp = dead subs. Turn down the gain and as long as you don't go crazy with the volume knob, the subs should be fine.

Well i adusted the gain correctly, And had these guys bangin real nicely, but i wired them in series, i had 1 - and 1 + going into the box and bridged them out to 2 - and 2 + but one of the sets of wires was too long. So I blew the ever living shit out of the sub hooked up to the shorter set of wires, it was getting more power. I mean i really blew it, if i turn the sub upside down i can hear something falling down from the magnet to the cone. and when i push down on the cone it grinds... But i got some premier spl 10's for a cheap price (160 a pair) and hooked them up today, they are soundin pretty sweet...

I doubt very seriously if the shorter wires had anything to do with it. The difference in resistance would be negilible. More than likely just a defect in the speaker...
