Does running a 4 ohm DVC at 2 ohms change anything? spl or sq?

No. you should be fine with that. Lowering the Ohms on an amp will give you more power b/c of less resistance. It wont effect SQ with subs. If you lower impedence with your mids/highs, you are more likely to notice SQ difference.

Usually when you have a sub wired at 2 ohms its called stereo mode and usually when its wired at 4 ohms its called mono. Mono is better than running you subs at stereo, I can't remember if it makes them louder or what but it does matter.
