PPI mids aint cuttin it. What yall think about these???

Well, after further listening, I'm realizing that my PPI 356cs mids are definately lacking some output. The tweets sound awesome though!!!!

Im thinking about getting these Tangband 6.5" subs to replace them...

I'm running passive off of a Sundown SAX125.2.

What do yall think about these for running as mids in an IB setup???

They remind me of the Old RE XXX mids. Im thinking they are the same just a diffrent name....

Yeah I saw those. They look REALLY beefy. They arent the same as the XXX mids though. They used XBL^2 in them. The Tangbands are just underhung.

I like the price of the ones I posted much better though, and I've heard ALOT of good about them. Most of it was just people that heard others opinions though. I would like some first hand opinions on them.

the passive crossover cuts aroun 5k if i remember well....

I might change my mids too... honestly it'S the weak point of the set... midrange is pretty clear but midbass is just ... ok at best

Your looking at the wrong type of driver. Those are better suited as subwoofer in a 3 way setup or more a less just a dedicated midbass.

If the passive crossover is really at 5khz, it's hard to find a 6.5 woofer to play cleanly that high.

I've played with these in a few installs with nice result's. Don't mind the freq response spec on the site. These WILL play upwards of 8k hz but with the 5k hz x-over on the PPI's passive it should be pretty nice.

I didn't see you were saying to go with your passives. I don't know how high they can play honestly. You can find them on here, or on diyma.com
